Given the extensive water networks within Iraq coming off the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers, many rivers and streams require dredging to initiate infrastructure and ecological improvements. One such project that KG has participated in was to supply and train the Ministry of Electricity with a swinging-ladder dredge in order to remove silt and debris from the waterbed next to the Mussayib Power Plant in Baghdad. This will allow the power plant to use uncontaminated water from the river to cool the power plant and provide electricity to millions of Iraqis within the greater Baghdad territory.
